READING SCORES
“Public rank is editorial · measured stays labeled.”
Public rank is editorial
The Money Zebra 100 order — who is #1, who is on the published 100 at all — is an editorial judgment. Editors set published Power from gut plus research. The formula still runs; it does not get to decide the leaderboard.
On a profile, yellow Power is the published figure. When editors have adjusted it, the measured methodology score stays visible and labeled separately. An opinion never quietly replaces a measurement.
When a score feels wrong
- What breaks if this person disappeared tomorrow?
- Who depends on them who cannot easily switch?
- Can they say no to a head of state or a CEO — and stick?
Yellow vs green
Zebra — published Power (editorial), with measured methodology beside it when they differ. Community — signed-in reader scores. They can disagree.
Data
- Prefer missing facts over invented dollars or FEC totals.
- Estimates are labeled. Seeds are a starting point.
