Our read: Larry Page treats scale — users, cash, or installed base — as the primary buffer against both competitors and regulators.

Not a diagnosis. Nobody here has examined Larry, and no clinical term appears in this section. This is an interpretation of public behaviour by people who are not their doctor. We publish it because when this much power sits with one person, what drives them stops being a private matter — not to excuse anything, and not to explain it away.

Epstein files
2010 email from a redacted sender says Page's pilot sought use of Epstein's helicopter
2010 · 2010 email from redacted sender, Justice Department Epstein document release
NBC News reported that Larry Page appears in the Justice Department's Epstein document release, including in a 2010 email whose sender's name is redacted. According to NBC's description of the document, the sender writes that Page's personal pilot wants to use Epstein's helicopter for a vacation in the Caribbean and is seeking Epstein's approval. The email is not from Page, and NBC reported the files do not appear to include a response. Google declined to comment. No wrongdoing is alleged, and appearing in these records is not evidence of any.
Epstein files
Virgin Islands told federal court it could not locate Page to serve an Epstein-related subpoena
2023-05-04 · USVI v. JPMorgan Chase, motion regarding service of subpoena on Larry Page, S.D.N.Y.
In the U.S. Virgin Islands' civil suit against JPMorgan Chase, the territory filed a three-page motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on May 4, 2023 stating that it had been unable to locate Larry Page at a valid address to serve a subpoena, despite "good-faith attempts" that included hiring an investigative firm to search public-records databases. The motion described Page as a "high-net-worth individual who Epstein may have referred or attempted to refer to JPMorgan" — the territory's characterization in seeking third-party discovery. Page was not a defendant in the case and was not accused of wrongdoing; the territory sought him as a potential source of documents and testimony. The same filing referenced subpoenas issued to Sergey Brin, Mortimer Zuckerman and Thomas Pritzker. The Fox Business report included no comment from Page or Google.
