Not a diagnosis. Nobody here has examined Bill, and no clinical term appears in this section. This is an interpretation of public behaviour by people who are not their doctor. We publish it because when this much power sits with one person, what drives them stops being a private matter — not to excuse anything, and not to explain it away.

Gates appears more than 3,000 times in Justice Department Epstein files
2013 · Justice Department Epstein records release; 2013 Epstein self-addressed emails
PBS NewsHour reported that Bill Gates's name appears more than 3,000 times across the Justice Department's Epstein document release. The references detail meetings scheduled between the two men and correspondence about philanthropy. The release also included two 2013 emails Epstein wrote to himself, at least one of which appears to be drafted as a resignation letter from Boris Nikolic, an adviser to Gates, from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Gates told the House committee he "never received these emails from Epstein or Nikolic," and said that while he was not blackmailed by Epstein, the emails "raise a serious probability that he contemplated blackmailing me." Gates also stated: "I never witnessed nor had any indication that Epstein was engaged in ongoing criminal conduct," and "I was only at dinners. I never went to the island, I never met any women." He said he stopped interacting with Epstein in December 2014 after concluding Epstein "would never deliver." PBS NewsHour notes that Gates has not been publicly accused of wrongdoing by any of Epstein's survivors. Appearing in these records is not evidence of wrongdoing.

House Oversight estate photos show Gates with Epstein's pilot
2025-11 · House Oversight Committee release of Epstein estate photographs and records
Photographs released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee — drawn from roughly 95,000 records produced by Jeffrey Epstein's estate — show Bill Gates with Epstein's pilot Lawrence Visoski, with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (the former British prince), and alongside women whose identities are obscured in the release. Per PBS NewsHour, Gates told the committee he was not introduced to the women in the photos and did not know their names, and that Epstein asked him to take photos with his assistants after meetings. Appearing in these photographs is not evidence of wrongdoing. Separately, NBC News reported that documents released from the Justice Department's Epstein material include emails Epstein sent to himself in 2013 appearing to suggest Gates was having an extramarital affair. A Gates spokesperson called the allegations "completely false" and described them as an Epstein attempt to "entrap" Gates. In his subsequent House committee interview, PBS NewsHour reported, Gates acknowledged having had affairs and said Epstein had unsuccessfully tried to use that information, "in addition to many lies that he layered on top," to pressure him into reengaging. Gates has said he was "foolish" and "quite stupid" to have spent time with Epstein.
